On a cool June 2nd Saturday morning sail, the Kort modification performed well, and head sail provided for a gentle sail in extremely light winds (flags on shore were limp) against the last hour of an ebb tide.

But a baggy mainsail shape failed to fill even in the few errant gusts from low flying aircraft coming in to land (low enough to see the landing gear tire treads).

No camera this time.

So back to the drawing board?

Without spending much time  I will experiment with a loose footed main next.

The loose footed sail worked really well with breeze on the beam or aft but had a tendency to flutter and collapse when the breeze was forward of beam. This was in about a 5 knot breeze.

So ... next will be a square standing lug.
